it was fun

Couple of days ago I got the chance to teach for free. Well, the reason behind the free teaching is because I and my other work colleagues are currently on a teaching program and in the process we get help from one of the building in one of the university in our town. And what exactly it all has something to do with everything? Simply said that they provide us the building so you know, it’s only going to be fair if we can somehow give something in return, so we decided to do this free teaching classes.

I must say that teaching for free is fun, you get all the time and all the-whatever-you-wanna-do because simply there is no obligation to keeping up with certain regulations. In the class, I tend to be more encouraging the students to focusing not only on answering the question by what but also more into the why and the how. I don’t see them as students as well as I don’t see myself as teacher, I take them as fellow academic adventurers in the journey of knowledge seeking that keeps going on and on and on. So every opinion matters and everybody has the same right to speak and share something in the class.

Though the participants are only less than ten for your information which is a little weird considering how this class is actually free but let just forget about the numbers. We are surrounded by everything around that put too many attention into numbers, like the numbers of followers or subscribers or viewers that it can be so good sometimes but also not really if you finally can put things in perspective.

It was actually not my first time experiencing free teaching because I already experience such things in the past when I was still in campus or communities or organizations, but it turned out that it felt good so that is why I want to documented the memory into this writing. Hopefully they can somewhat crystallized. By the time I write this very writing, I do not know exactly how I felt what I felt that day.
