when someone's problem is everybody's problem
The internet
has just bombarded by the recent breaking news of a kinda well known public figure
that frequently appearing as actress in filmtv on one of television channel. She
was arrested by the police officers considering her involvement in once online
prostitution, where she was being paid around 80 million rupiah for a single
date, she was not alone, accompanied by one other woman that sadly I did not
really recognize her fame so I had no idea and not really bothered she was also
got arrested the same time.
First
thing first, I am not against any act of sexual activity by other people that I
don’t even know whether they’re coincidentally a public figure or just another regular
citizen. I don’t care. But prostitution is illegal in this country, offline or
online, but you know we know that it is everywhere around us.
Every
one of us desire to do such pleasure activity, some people do it, which is technically
okay because it is their body so they can actually do whatever they want about
it. But here in Indonesia, we have so called social norm and moreover religion
norm, with that being said, any of those related non appropriate act will be
judged and associated as bad people, making some other people, probably you and
me, wish to do it but do not dare to do so. And some other people do it
secretly silently.
This
very country of ours is just too amazing that someone’s problem is everybody’s
problem and that is pretty much the fact you like it or not. Sometimes I think
that we are becoming more Arabic than the real Arabian countries in some cases,
we may also speaking foreign languages as good as the native speakers of that
certain foreign countries that being spoken. Absorbing external element and
make it our own is our best skill somewhat.
