attack on titan chapter 122 review
Did you guys
still remember the day when I uploaded the post about manga Attack On Titan
chapter 121 fan theories? Now, the chapter 122 has been released, the truth is
now officially open for public. The real history of how the first Titan ever
made contact with the source power, and the earth devil does not exist, it is
pure myth. Totally mind blown, right? But, now I'm just getting more and more
confuse, I will tell you why later in the end of the post, why everything is so
confusing. Oh my head.
First off, I
wanna review what happened in chapter 122. And it was super tragic, in a way
that nobody, literally no one would have had thought. Everything started sort
of coincidental. Ymir is a girl, yes. But she was no ordinary girl. She was a
slave, since the beginning, probably since birth. And that continued up to her
death, she was continously suffering and being a slave even after her death.
Wait, what? Okay, I'll break it down more for you. There was no Titan in the
past, the Eldian tribe was the scariest tribe with big physical apperance, or
even can be calle huge. They liked to conquer other land and made those people
to be their slave. Yes, one of them is Ymir, the first titan.
One bad day, a
random pig has been lost, the head of the tribe at the moment planed to took
one eyeball out from each of the slave if nobody wanted to came out and admit
the fault. Ymir was being victimised, yes scapegoated. Then, she was punished, tortured
by the craziest way possible, they let her ran into the woods and chased her to
death. She was bleeding, and one of her eyes was suspectedly already been taken
out, I know, that is very very barbaric method of punishment. Yes or yes?
She then found
a tree with a hole. She entered it, then fell down into the water, and had
contact with unidentify strange entity. It looked like human spine, it attached
with her. Then, she was instantly transforming into the first titan, the
founder titan. She was huge like the colosal titan, or even bigger, had long
hair like the female titan, and the exposed human rib out of the body. She may
actually fleed herself from the slavery with such power, right? Wrong! She
remained to be the slave and made that tribe bigger and became a kingdom. The
king then rewarded her by married her off and got three daughters, but she was
still a slave after all, keep listening to her master.
Then, in one
accasion, somebody planed to kill the king, Ymir covered the king and she got
stabed right into the left chest, and died. Okay, now that is weird. She was a
titan power holder, she would have been survived easily like so many titan
shifter character we've been read or watched in AOT universe. But, nope. And
this special rare phenomenon was already explained by the so many youtubers
stated that probably the revived power or the healing ability from wounds actually
related to the will of that person wanted to live or die, referring to the fan theories.
And something
scarier is not done yet, after she died, the body was choped off into several
pieces and eaten by her children. That way, the king can make sure that the
power would be stayed in their possession. Ymir traped in the titan dimension,
continue becoming a slave, creating titan everytime, someone as the titan
shifters turned into Titan. And we also got the picture of how Ymir created the
ten millions titans in the walls. And yes, those millions titans in the wall
exist for real.
In the
previous chapter, we have been told that our super hero has now turned into
super villain. But from this new chapter, I think Eren is still the same, he is
still the hero we watched growing up through the series of manga and anime.
Even if he plans to literally destroying the whole world, I mean, yeah that is
probably not any super hero would have been wanted to do, but our situation
here is kinda different, you know.
This is about
freeing from the slavery, it is about Ymir that sends message from 2000 years
ago to anyone in the 2000 in the future to come and help her out. Isayama, the
creator, already got the whole story right from the very beginning. We can tell
by how connected the chapter 1 and the chapter 122 actually are, right?
But, now
things are really confusing as near the end. Does the story really have one straight
timeline? So, what about the time travel in the previous chapter when Eren and
Zeke visited the memory that turns out to be the past and talk to their father
about many things, how Eren was the cause why father slaughtering the whole
remaining royal family that time in the past. And I just don’t get it how by
destroying the whole world with millions of titan can actually end the story of Ymir's suffering.
As we read on
the manga, Eren is alive and turning into the titan mode one more time, but it
seems different and bigger and maybe he has the power of founding titan already?
Walls are falling down and millions colossal titans are standing everywhere. Next
chapter is going to be epic. Hopefully the ending, I don’t know, we deserve so
much explanations about everything. About what is actually going on with the story.
